Trempealeau Rentals

American Marine is now offering pontoon rental at our Trempealeau location!  Thanks to our location, you can enjoy boating on both Pool 5 & 6.

Any person born on or after Jan 1st, 1989 must have a valid Boater’s Safety Certificate in order to operate a boat or pontoon on Wisconsin waters. American Marine requires any person born after 1/1/1989 to show proof of certification prior to rental. The test may be taken online here and the certificate or card must be presented in order to rent at our Trempealeau location. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Boat Options

If you would like to increase your excitement, a tube rental is available for an additional $50.

Cancellation Policy

American Marine has a 96 hour (4-day) cancellation policy.  If you cancel prior to your 96 hour notice, your deposit will be refunded in full.  If you cancel or change your date after the 96 hour notice, you will not be refunded the $100 deposit.  You may apply your deposit towards a future rental within the same rental season.

If on the date of your rental there are heavy rains, thunderstorms or high winds, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and will issue a full refund.

However, in the case of cooler/warmer weather, overcast skies, or light rain, the renter is still responsible, as all boats will be released to go out on the water.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do I need to have a boating license to rent a boat?  In Wisconsin – you do not need a boating license if you were born on or before 12/31/1988. If you were born after that date, you must have proof of a valid Wisconsin Boat Renter’s Safety Certificate or equivalent boating course, as well as a valid driver’s license.
Do your boats have life jackets on board? Anchors? Fire extinguishers?  Yes, each boat is equipped with all items required by law to be legal on the river, including life jackets for the capacity of the boat. There is an anchor and line on each boat as well.
Do children need to wear life jackets, and do I need to bring them?  Children under age 12 in Wisconsin must wear a vest at all times while on the water, whether the boat is docked, anchored, or in motion. We have a small stock of children’s vests, but we recommend bringing jackets/vests for your children if they have them. This will ensure a proper fit.
Are children counted as 1 person on boat capacity?  Yes – the listed boat capacity is for all people, regardless of age.
Are my pets allowed on the rentals?  No, pets are not allowed on our rentals. If you have a service animal, please let us know at the time of rental.

Are there bathrooms on board? Our boats do not have either bathrooms or porta-potties, but there are many places to stop along the river though.

Is there a refrigerator on board? Can I bring coolers, snacks, drinks, etc? Our boats do not have refrigerators, but you are welcome to bring coolers. Snacks and drinks are encouraged!

Can I bring a grill? Unfortunately we do not allow grills on our rentals due to the potential for fire damage.

Can we have alcohol on board?  Yes – alcohol is allowed on the boat and may be consumed while underway but you must follow state & national alcohol consumption guidelines. You can get ticketed and/or arrested on the water for OWI (operating while intoxicated) with a BAC of .08 or higher.

Will the boat be full of gas when I leave? Your boat rental includes a full tank of fuel and can be returned at any fuel level.  If you need to refuel while you’re out, you will be responsible for any additional fuel charges.
